Andrea Blowers selected the Big Brother/Big Sister program because she herself is a big sister and has been participating in the program for three and a half years. When she is not busy volunteering and taking pictures, she spends her time refinishing wood furniture and crocheting.

When asked who has influenced her the most in her work as a photographer she replied, “My husband Blake is the greatest influence, and as for photographers, Henri Cartier-Bresson, and Joyce Tenneson.”

The most significant personal gain Andrea achieved was that the experience she had working in documentary photography has led her to want to pursue a career in the field.
