Working Full Time After Retirement
By Alicia Qualley, Staff Writer

June Sundahl has done more with her life than most people might ever want to take on. She has been an influence and a help to many members of the community, and her willingness to give of herself is an inspiration to others.
June has lived in Moorhead, MN, in the same home since she was born, but her age remains a secret. After her parents death when she was still a child, her aunt came from Norway to care for her and her brother Jim. June lives with Jim and his spending her days making other people's lives better.
She works hard every day as a volunteer in the Moorhead community. Her day job takes her to Trinity Lutheran Church where she works from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. doing whatever tasks are at hand. She even trains in the interns. She also makes quilts that are sent all over the world to less fortunate families. From here she picks one day a week to spend at the Lost and Found Ministry, a center for recovering alcoholics and other addictions, run by Trinity Church. June doesn't take her weekends off. Saturdays she opens the Moorhead Thrift Store where she volunteers as a cashier and sales associate.
She finds various ways to get to work, since she has never had a driver's license, although she walks most of the time. She taught at the Moorhead Senior High School until her retirement when she began her volunteering. Her whole life has revolved around caring for others. An interesting life indeed.
