Clarence Cole has always had a taste for weird and unusual things. So it was no surprise he focused his photography project on something monumentally different. Cole chose to photograph small-town monuments throughout Minnesota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin capturing images of the Jolly Green Giant in Blue Earth, MN, and Tommy the Turtle in Bottineau, ND. Traveling was Cole's No. 1 priority for his project, as he wanted to soak up the scenery and contemplate his future in photojournalism along the way. Although there were a few hurdles to clear on his trip (money and time), Cole said he enjoyed the landscapes, town atmospheres and monuments; a documentary he said would be enjoyable to undertake for years to come. | |||||||||||||
